Depending on which assessment you registered for, we have a slightly different protocol for accessing and completing it. Each assessment choice is described below with instructions once you register for it on our website.
Once you register for either a DUI or Drug/Alcohol assessment on our website an email will be automatically sent to one of our Drug and Alcohol Counselors. You will be contacted within 24 hours (M-F) by phone and/or email to set up your call. You and the counselor can determine if you want to do the evaluation by phone or online video. If you live in Orange County, CA and want to do the assessment in person at our Laguna Beach office, you can also schedule that with the counselor. Once your assessment time has been scheduled, the assessment will take approximately 1 hour to complete. The counselor will the draft a write up based on your results with recommendations. This document will be provided to you by mail and email. If you need it quickly, you can pay to have it sent overnight via FedEx. If you need the assessment "Expedited", this means the counselors will contact you within 24 hours and have the assessment completed by the day (or same day if completed before 12pm PST).
Once you purchase either a domestic violence or anger management assessment, you will receive an email with instructions on downloading it. Click on the link to download the assessment and print it out. Each of these assessments has approximately 100 questions and takes about 30 minutes to complete. Instructions on how to answer the questions is included in the downloadable document. Once you finish answering those questions, either mail, fax or email back to our office. If you live in southern California and wish to complete the assessment in person, please call our office after you register to let us know you want to take it in this format. Once we receive your completed assessment, Dr. Novick will score it and provide a write up with an overview of your results and recommendations. This document will be mailed via USPS First Class mail or you can pay to have the assessment send 2 or 3 day mail as well as overnight mail.
